TWICE’s Nayeon Is First K-Pop Solo Artist To Chart An Album For Three Weeks In Billboard 200's History
Nayeon, a member of K-pop band TWICE, who made her solo debut with the mini album "IM NAYEON", is continuing to make history on the Billboard charts.
Earlier in July, the singer debuted on the Billboard 200 chart at the No. 7 spot, making Nayeon the first K-pop solo artist to ever enter the top 10. Now the South Korean star has become history's first K-pop soloist to have an album that has spent three weeks on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart, which ranks the United States's most popular albums.
"IM NAYEON" successfully remained on the Billboard 200 at the No. 86 spot, for the week ending on July 23, marking the album's third consecutive week on the chart.
In addition to that, the TWICE band member is now also the first K-pop solo artist in history to chart for three weeks in a row on Billboard's Artist 100, where she held the No. 59 rank this week.
Furthermore, "IM NAYEON" held on strongly at the No. 4 position on Billboard's World Albums chart, at the No. 5 spot on both the Top Current Album Sales chart and Top Album Sales chart, and the No. 10 rank on this week's Tastemaker Albums chart.
Moreover, "POP!", Nayeon's title track, held steadily at No. 20 on Billboard's Global Excl. U.S. chart, while also rising back up to No. 36 on the Global 200.
Meanwhile, Nayeon is a dark, edgy angel in her pictorial for Dazed. The K-pop star perfectly pulled off some really lovely vibes. She dazzled in a stylish pink and black with sass and confidence.
In another set of photos, the beautiful singer was seen wearing a glittering white dress with a pair of great wings, as she posed against a black background as if reflecting an angel's face turned to the dark side.
Nayeon successfully made her solo artist debut in June. Her group TWICE is also expected to make a comeback on August 28 with "Between 1&2", a new mini album.
Incidentally, Nayeon became a member of TWICE in 2015 under the label of JYP Entertainment as a winning contestant of "Sixteen", a reality survival television show. She officially debuted as a TWICE member in October of that year with the release of "The Story Begins", the band's first extended play.
