TWICE Debuts For First Time On The Billboard Pop Radio Airplay Chart With 'The Feels'
K-pop girls' group TWICE has finally made their first entry on the Billboard Pop Airplay chart. The band made the feat with their song "The Feels", three months after its release.
The Pop Airplay chart takes account of the weekly plays across the United States' mainstream Top 40 radio stations.
"The Feels", a pre-release single that dropped in October 2021, entered the Billboard chart at No. 40, making it TWICE's first song to do so.
Before TWICE, only two other K-pop girls' bands have made their debut on the Pop Airplay charts, namely BLACKPINK with "Ice Cream", a collaboration song with Selena Gomez, and Loona with "Star", an English language single.
Meanwhile, TWICE's most recent album "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" held on strongly at the No. 79 position on Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart. It is the weekly ranking of the United States' most popular albums.
This maks the seventh consecutive week that "Formula of Love: O+T=<3" has spent on the Billboard 200. Not only did the album successfully break its own record as the longest-charting South-Korean girl band album released in 2021, but it has now also become the only second K-pop girl band album in Billboard 200's history ever to spend seven weeks on it.
Previously, TWICE made Billboard history with the albumin the first week of its release, when it debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, which made TWICE the first-ever K-pop girl band with two top 10 albums.
The album also ranked at No. 2 on Billboard's World Albums chart, No. 9 on Billboard's Top Current Album Sales chart, and No. 10 on Billboard's Top Album Sales chart this week. On the other hand, "The Feels" ranked No. 79 on Billboard's Global Excl. U.S. chart and No. 138 on Billboard's Global 200.
Now, finally, this week TWICE charted at No. 88 on Artist 100.
In other news, TWICE's "Feel Special" music video accumulated over 400 million YouTube views on December 31, 2021, since it was posted in September 2019. It is a track from "The 9th Mini Album" and the mv has become their eighth to get 400 million YouTube views.
TWICE, which is signed under the music label JYP Entertainment, comprises band nine members, Tzuyu, Chaeyoung, Dahyun, Mina, Jihyo, Sana, Momo, Jeongyeon, and Nayeon.
The group recently started their fourth world tour "III" with a two-day concert held in Seoul on December 25 and 26, 2021.
