BTS's V Is Google's Most-Searched Asian In 2021
BTS member V is Google's most searched Asian worldwide in 2021. The search engine published a new list based on data collected from January 1 to December 14 this year via Google trends on search topics related to all Asian celebrities.
Previously, V was also revealed to be Google's No. 1 most-searched K-pop idol.
Last month, V also went viral as the "guy in the red bandana" after BTS made an appearance at the 2021 American Music Awards. After the awards ceremony was hosted, there was a lot of buzz about the guy who wore the red bandana, among people who were not clued in about V.
Several search terms including the guy on the right side of Ariana appeared when "the guy" was typed on the search bar of the platform.
V has definitely been on a winning spree when it comes to popularity. Earlier this month, V whose real name is Kim Taehyung broke two Guinness World Records by becoming the fastest person to get 1 million followers on Instagram in 43 minutes and 10 million followers within 4 hours and 52 minutes.
Meanwhile, the much loved vocalist's new track "Christmas Tree", the OST K-drama "Our Beloved Summer", is going to release on Christmas eve. A teaser confirming the song's title and date of release was unveiled with a teaser recently.
"Our Beloved Summer" stars Kim Da-mi and Choi Woo-shik, the latter is a close friend of V. The teaser showcased a short snippet from the third episode of the show.
The BTS band member is not new to singing a song for a K-drama. Last year, V sang the OST track "Sweet Night" for the show Itaewon Class. It also starred Choi Woo-shik and Park Seo-joon, who is another close friend of V.
"Christmas Tree" is going to be the singer's second consecutive Christmas song. Last year, he released "Snow Flower" on Christmas eve in collaboration with his friend Peakboy.
Incidentally, V, Peakboy, Park Seo-joon, and Choi Woo-shik are a part of a friends group called Wooga Squad. The group, comprising the four, often hang out together and support each other in their endeavours.
On the work front, the Bangtan Boys are on a short vacation at present. During this time-off, they will prepare for their new album, which will mark the beginning of a new chapter. In addition, the seven members will also gear up for their "Permission To Dance On Stage In Seoul" concert, scheduled for March 2022.
