NCT Dream's Renjun Covers Troye Sivan's Hit-Track 'Fools'
NCT Dream member Renjun releases his highly-awaited Troye Sivan’s ‘Fools’ cover!
After hinting his fans for a Troye Sivan cover, Renjun did not hesitate to leave his fans in full tears by dropping Australian singer, Troye Sivan’s major hit track ‘Fools’ on NCT Music’s official Youtube channel.
The 20-year-old singer had formerly hinted his beloved fans about the cover during a live broadcast, per Hellokpop. This year, Renjun demonstrated a piece of the song with him singing the melody of ‘Fools’ on V Live. However, Renjun was very swift to cliff-hang his fans by hurriedly stopping the scene.
“It was supposed to be a surprise,” Renjun cheekily said. Having that said, Renjun solely promised to his fans and viewers to share a much better version of the song.
Fast forward to the cover’s release, and the NCTzens surely can say that Renjun pulled through with his promise!
The track comes along with a dramatic music video that captures the melancholia message of the song. Themed in a retro style, the dim and sad lights used for the visuals add to Renjun’s perfect vocals. The music video focuses on Renjun’s façade as he sings every word of the lyrics passionately and full of sadness.
Not only does the song’s tune and vocals that pin out Renjun’s talent, but it also opened the door for Renjun to showcase his versatility, aside from his usual NCT Dream stunt. According to Soompi, this is the first time Renjun sang a song entirely in English.
Moreover, the singer’s rendition of Troye Sivan’s ‘Fools’ is his first cover release following his pact with NCT Dream.
