Former AOA Member Mina Deactivates Instagram After Posting Controversial Snap, Online Backlash
Former AOA member Mina receives an online backlash after posting a picture of herself smoking with her new boyfriend in a hotel room. The controversial singer is now under fire for allegedly lying about her post, which ultimately results in the deactivation of her Instagram account.
Mina shared the controversial post on Monday, Sept. 6, and her followers quickly noticed that she was holding a cigarette. Netizens, then, promptly pointed out that the hotel in the picture was a non-smoking area and its designated smoking area was outside of the building.
This only means the 27-year-old idol broke the hotel rule, though she later denied the claim, AllKpop noted. She refused she was in a non-smoking area, though she later deleted the photo in question.
Criticisms started to draw in, and netizens believed she was in a motel and not in a hotel. Later, Mina shared a screenshot of her hotel room reservation to prove her claim.
It was from a third-party booking site and it showed she chose a room where smoking was allowed. However, rather than answer the online backlash, she decided to deactivate her page instead.
Mina's action comes after she revealed she is one of the four alleged Jimin's bullying victims. In a series of posts on Instagram before she canceled the account, she claimed there was evidence to prove that Jimin was indeed a bully, The Straits Times noted.
The former group member, who left the band and retired from the entertainment business, had several victims and she happened to be the "last standing one." The "Hospital Ship" star initially wanted to keep all these details for a lawsuit, but one of the victims passed.
To recall, Jimin left AOA in July after Mina made an explosive allegation ab bullying against her. Allegedly, the group leader had bullied her for a decade.
Mina also shared a photo of her scarred wrist at the time, alluding she had tried to end her own life due to the alleged bullying. The same thing happened again two months ago after she once again tried to kill herself after being involved in a cheating controversy when she became the third party in a relationship.
Meanwhile, just last week, Mina appeared on JumJumTV's Blessed Show YouTube channel to clear that only one of AOA's eight members had bullied her. Currently, the group only has three members left and others already decided to go. (Business TImes)
