Lovelyz's Seo Ji Soo Positive For COVID-19, Co-Members Cancel Activities And In Isolatation
Lovelyz's Seo Ji Soo was confirmed to be positive for COVID-19 while the rest of the members Baby Soul, Jiae, Mijoo, Kei, Jin, Sujeong, and Yein, all received a negative result from the testing. The group's agency, Woollim Entertainment, released a statement to let fans know about the health situation of the Lovelyz members.
The agency shared on Wednesday, June 23, that except for Seo Ji Soo, it was fortunate that the rest of the team tested negative for the contagious disease. While only one is positive, Woollim said that all the members and staff that they have interacted with would be in isolation until July 4.
This is a preventive measure to stop the spread of the coronavirus and part of South Korea's COVID-19 guidelines for people who were exposed to an infected person. It was revealed that Ji Soo's result came out on Tuesday, so this is a belated announcement.
"We would like to inform you about Lovelyz," Woollim stated in a note that was translated by Koreaboo. "All seven members except for Ji Soo have tested negative for COVID-19 as of June 23. We consider the safety of our artists and staff as our top priority, and we will continue to take measures in accordance with the requests and guidelines of the authorities."
In any case, because of Seo Ji Soo's positive diagnosis for COVID-19, all the activities of Lovelyz have been either canceled or postponed to a later date. It was reported that although Kei is alright, her appearance in the Midnight Sun musical was also canceled.
As per Allkpop, Kei is part of the said musical show where she plays Haena. She was supposed to be on stage on June 26 and July 3 at the Gwanglim Art Center but had to withdraw temporarily. Kei will be replaced by Kang Hye In and Lee Ah Jin on the two dates that she is unable to perform.
