How K-Pop Idols Get Each Other's Numbers, According To K-Pop Artists
We don't always see K-pop groups talk or interact with another idol, especially of the opposite sex, but that doesn't mean that they never interact. On a YouTube channel, Rilaccoco, K-pop artist Coco and former long-term trainee Gina Maeng filmed a question and answer video.
According to Koreaboo, both of the girls shared that K-pop idols do interact with each other at music shows. Music shows are great places and an opportunity for interested parties to get the numbers of the fellow idols.
When the cameras are off, they talk to each other and socialize like usual. Gina Maeng said that "It's really fun, such as sneaking into each other's waiting room.
Coco also said, "Especially if you are dating someone that you are promoting with." According to Coco, they can come into their waiting room and just talk to each other like normal friends.
She also explained that through the help of mutual friends, you could get the numbers of fellow idols.
"If I knew Joshua from SEVENTEEN and one of his members was interested in me... it is easy. Or if I were interested in his members, I would be like, 'Dude, I am interested in Yada Yada.' It's really easy," Coco said.
Gina added that in the era of social media, it Is very easy to get in touch with fellow celebrities online as well. Gina said, "Even if you have no mutual friend, everyone is DM-ing or direct messaging each other on social media."
On the other side of the story, K-pop idols kept longtime promises to their fans. Here are 4 times that the Korean idols fulfilled their promise.
At number one is BTS' Suga donating meat. At a fan sign that happened way back in the year 2014, Suga asked the ARMY if there was anything they wanted to eat.
The BTS fandom ARMY, who participated in the fan signing, told Suga that they wanted to eat beef. And so Suga said, "Let's go eat it together next time. For real."
He vowed to fulfill his promise on March 9, 2018. And on that exact date, Suga not only donated 10 kg of Korean Hanwoo beef but also signed copies of BTS's albums to 39 orphanages in the name of ARMY.
Number 2 is when IU promised a fan who was a senior in high school that she would make a surprise visit to their school. She said this at a fan meeting in 2018.
And her promise was fulfilled when she attended the fan's graduation ceremony in 2019, and she also performed a few songs at the ceremony.
Moving on is when I.O.I members made a promise in 2016 that they would reunite in 5 years.
In 2021, the members kept their promise and reunited for a live broadcast to celebrate IOI's 5th anniversary. Lastly is BTS's V framing an ARMY's artwork.
In the year 2019, V asked ARMYs saying, "Can you draw me as a Simpson? I want to frame it. I want to see a V Simpson and a Tannie Simpson too. ARMYs who are good at drawing, if you have time, just once."
Nearly a year after V made the request, he kept his promise to frame ARMY's fan art.
