Seungkwan Halts Activities With SEVENTEEN Due To Ankle Injury
SEVENTEEN's Seungkwan has suffered from an ankle injury and will be in temporary hiatus for a while.
Per Soompi, a statement following the incident that happened to Seungkwan was posted on Twitter by the singer's label- Pledis Entertainment.
The announcement stated that Seungkwan was injured in his ankle while having a choreography practice. The singer immediately went to the hospital to receive treatment and a detailed examination.
With "left ankle ligament rupture" as the doctor's findings, Seungkwan was promptly advised to undergo surgery since the results require that the injury needs immediate action. With this, on Saturday, Seungkwan underwent surgery.
The label expressed that the singer is focusing on his recovery and finding stability with the recent operation. Seungkwan will temporarily take a break from further activities of the group to focus on managing his health.
Moreover, Pledis noted that they would do their best to maximize the treatment of their talent that he may complete his recovery. "Starting today, we will be temporarily halting Seungkwan's activities to protect our artist. We ask for your understanding in advance that Seungkwan can focus solely on his recovery."
The statement also announced that despite the halt of Seungkwan's further involvement in the group, SEVENTEEN would continue to accomplish their planned promotions temporarily as 12 members.
Pledis Entertainment ended their statement asking apology for causing fans to worry with the sudden news and emphasized that they will always prioritize the health of the artists.
As reported by the Meaww, some fans were disappointed with what happened to Seungkwan. At the same time, others posted their concerns and wishes for the artist on Twitter.
A heartfelt message from a supporter said that even Seungkwan can't perform choreographies, for now, they know that he will be there singing till the end. "We all wish you nothing but the best, the brightest, funniest, most caring Seungkwan. I love you."
