Filipino Former Beauty Queen Insults BTS: 'Gay And Creepy'
Imelda Schweighart, a Filipino former beauty queen, posted something on her Facebook, sharing her thoughts on global superstars BTS.
Imelda Bautista Schweighart, better known by her former screen name Imee Hart, is a German-Filipino model, singer, songwriter, composer, actress, and beauty queen who was crowned 'Miss Philippine Earth 2016' on June 11, 2016.
On May 2, the beauty queen's post became viral as Imelda Schweighart shares that her boyfriend, for the very first time, made her watch a BTS video. In her post, she insinuates BTS relied on plastic surgery for success. Here is what she posted on her Facebook.
"My bf made me watch BTS last night for the first time I watched," she wrote. "The hype? Can never be in a K-Pop fan's shoe to understand the depth of their adoration. It's like watching Michael Jackson in clones. Is it creepy? The hype is creepy. But there clearly is talent... but aesthetically pleasing in the face and skin? Would have they made it without glutathione and rhinoplasty? Is it a mix of LGBTQ and real men? Planning to make a podcast about this. Would love to hear everyone's input regarding this hype and is it really safe psychologically for the next generation to be brainwashed with? Pop culture definitely has an impact on kids. Let's talk about this. Tune it!"
Because of Imelda Schweighart's post just 2 weeks ago, she became the enemy of K-pop fans especially to the ARMY- BTS's fandom. Many have said that the beauty queen had no right to criticize BTS and their music as her songs are terrible.
In 2020, the German-Filipino beauty queen, Imelda Schweighart, made international headlines after posting three simple words on Facebook: "I hate K-pop." She just only went and wrote off all Korean popular music in one foul, three-word swipe, earning a multitude of mortal enemies in the process.
Imelda added that Filipino is "losing their identity to be like Koreans. Konting pride, please?" She went on to say that Filipinos speak English better than Koreans and, replying to comments, said that Filipinos should not be bending to trends or fads.
And so the beauty queen was condemned for being racist, xenophobic, disrespectful, and only using BTS for clout.
