Seo Ye-Ji Controversy And Issues: A Controlling Girlfriend And A Liar?
Seo Ye-Ji, an actress of South Korea is currently having multiple scandals not only in South Korea but also in Spain.
Seo Ye-Ji got a huge Korean and International attention after the drama "It's Okay Not to Be Okay." After the release of this drama Seo became a hot topic.
According to Forbes, Seo Ye-Ji's scandal started when she has been accused of manipulating her ex-boyfriend, Kim Jung-hyun.
On April 12, Dispatch - a well-known Korean tabloid site published a report about the K-drama 'Time' in 2018 pointing out that 13 scenes were changed or removed and these include physical contact between the main characters, Kim and Girls Generation's Seohyun.
Dispatch suggested that Kim was ordered by his girlfriend which is Seo Ye-Ji, to not film any romantic scenes in the drama.
Kim Jung-hyun suddenly dropped out of the drama because of health reasons, citing an eating disorder, but Seo Ye-Ji has been the subject of allegations for bullying her ex-boyfriend and that it is the cause why Kim Jung-hyun dropped out of the 2018 MBC drama Time.
Seo Ye-Ji's scandal about controlling her ex-boyfriend is just the beginning. These were followed by another issue when a netizen claimed to be Seo's victim of bullying and she shared a photo of their middle school yearbook as proof.
According to Koreaboo that on April 13 this netizen also said that "Seo Ye-Ji went for plastic surgery around her middle school graduation, and that's why people couldn't believe those photos are actually of her."
On April 13, Seo's agency also said "regarding the suspicions of school violence that was additionally raised, we inform you that they are completely false." Another accusation is about, Seo Ye-Ji lying and fabricating her educational background.
In March 2017, on the variety TV show Knowing Bros, Seo shared her experiences on her studies for three years saying "I wanted to become a news anchor and decided to study abroad in Spain."
But in an interview with Woman Sense in 2017, Seo caused such confusing statements when she said that " I have never been to University in Spain and never even dreamt of becoming a news anchor."
However, Seo's agency gave an official statement, saying "Seo Ye-Ji was admitted to the Complutense University of Madrid in Madrid, but after starting her activities in Korea, she was not able to normally attend the university."
On April 14, another scandal occurred when an anonymous staffer from " It's Okay Not to Be Okay" posted online saying that they were verbally abused by Seo and she even asked them to buy cigarettes for her.
According to the former staffer, Seo would threaten to fire her staff and prevent them from getting other jobs in the industry if she ever caught them spreading false statements about her.
Another staff member who worked with her for five years from 2015 to 2020, defended Seo Ye-Ji, saying, "The Seo Ye-Ji I know often expresses her gratitude by saying, 'Thank you for all your work'," she also added that Seo has never considered the staff as someone lower than her, neither has she treated her staffs poorly in any way.
