Below is a list of several aspiring K-Pop idols who have chosen to end their careers.
Go Yujin
After her performance at Produce 48, Go Yujin gained notoriety and amazed audiences with her energetic dance skills. However, she finished 31st in the competition. She recently confirmed that she would be dropping her career as an artist and continue living as a non-celebrity.
In Yujin's official letter to her fans and the public, she mentioned that she had always wanted to debut, but things got complicated as her likes are not aligned with the managing label that's housing her.
Because of the stress she experienced about her debut plans, she decided to drop her career as it took a significant toll on her mental health. She shared that it's also hard because she has been preparing for it since she was young.
She apologized to the fans who were waiting for her to make a name in the industry. She concluded her letter by acknowledging all the fans who supported her and cheered her on. Since that day, Go Yujin has spent her time uploading YouTube videos for fans to cope with her daily life.
Kwon Hyeop
Kwon Hyeop was a new trainee in Maroo Entertainment and a Produce 101 Season 2 competitor.
During the first round of the show's elimination round, he was eliminated. Kwon Hyeop then opted to abandon the possibility of being a celebrity. The agency complied with his wishes and hoped the best for the teen in all his future endeavors.
Ariyoshi Risa
Ariyoshi Risa competed in Produce 101 but was eventually eliminated, landing a final rank of 55. She then decided to give up working as an artist and became an owner and manager of a shop.
