BLACKPINK Rosé Revealed Shocking Vocal Exercise, Routine For Performance Preparations
Every stage performer does a specific routine or exercise to prepare themselves before a performance. This does not exclude the members of BLACKPINK, especially Rosé, who recently revealed hers in an interview.
Speaking to QQ Music, the "On The Ground" singer talked about the "special thing" that she does before she heads out to sing her songs. Koreaboo noted that this came after the K-Pop idol received the question about how to "open [her] throat" before recording or performing on stage.
Rosé said that she "lowers her voice" and sings her songs in this tone. She always does to prepare herself for the actual act.
To clarify what she meant, she gave an example of how she does it. She signaled that she lets her voice out from her diaphragm and make a sound from a low tone rate.
The BLACKPINK vocalist continued by singing a line from her hit track, "On The Ground." She sang it using her lowered vocal tone as if she was reciting the lyrics to the interviewer.
Following the revelation, Rosé no longer went to the details of her complete routine. Instead, they moved forward to discuss other things about her.
The BLACKPINK vocalist has done several interviews these past few weeks. Following the apparent success of her debut solo album, it is not surprising why she continues to attract the appeal and attention of the mass.
As she keeps on breaking records, though, because of her two-track album R, many netizens are seemingly eager to share their analyses of Rosé's vocals. On Amino Apps, one fan asserted that she has a vocal rating of C+, and is a "light lyric-soprano" type.
The post continued that she holds the "highest studio note" of their group in all projects. But, despite being the main vocalist, she, reportedly, has a "horrible technique."
Many Quora respondents, also, have similar thoughts about the BLACKPINK member's vocals. One of the responses, which had the most upvotes, argued that Rosé has a "weak pitch," adding that she goes "flat" most of the time.
Another netizen claimed that her throat becomes tighter every time she sings much higher notes. She is, reportedly, "nasal, so much that her voice primarily comes out of her nose." Moreover, "her throat closes early on in her own range.
In the end, many agreed that her classification as a vocalist would be "weak to average." But, even so, they deemed her as, technically, the "best vocalist in BLACKPINK." (Business Times)
