The queens can never be dethroned!
All-girl K-pop group BLACKPINK stormed the different airplay charts across the globe as they released their newest single titled 'How You Like That' on June 26. Twenty-one days and 11 minutes after its release, BLACKPINK's music video soared to 300 million views on Youtube, breaking their previous record.
According to the band's management YG Entertainment, 'How You Like That' hits the 300-million-view mark at exactly 6:11 on the evening of Friday (July 17).
"...the fastest ever in the history of K-pop music videos," YG Entertainment said.
Previously, the femme fatale consisting of Lisa, Rosé, Jennie, and Jisoo breaks the record of the international K-pop ensemble BTS for their 'Boy With Luv' music video, that features singer-songwriter Halsey.
Per Entertainment Times, BLACKPINK outshines BTS' 24-hour viewing record by having 82 million views within a day. BTS, on the other hand, only reached 74.6 million views.
Hereafter, BLACKPINK breaks its record of hitting the 300 million views on Youtube that was previously held by the band's 'Kill This Love' music video in 2019. As per Korea Joongang Daily, 'Kill This Love' hits the 300-million-mark in 33 days after its release, which means BLACKPINK broke their own personal record.
Also, the 'How You Like That' dance practice video is currently running towards hitting the 100-million-mark, YG Entertainment reported. 'How You Like That' follows the footsteps of BLACKPINK's earlier single, naming such as 'As If It's Your Last,' 'Whistle,' 'BOOMBAYAH,' 'Kill This Love,' and 'DDU-DU DDU-DU.'
To date, the quartet is working towards launching its first-ever full-length album due in September. The comeback album will be the bands first in over a year of hiatus.
This May, BLACKPINK graced their voices in Lady Gaga's newest album in the track 'Sour Candy,' following their collaboration with English pop star Dua Lipa.
