Kim Da Mi, Byun Woo Seok, and Jeon So Nee To Star In The Korean Adaptation of 'Soulmate'
Jeon So Nee, Kim Da Mi, and Byun Woo Seok have been confirmed to star in the Korean version of the Chinese movie "Soulmate."
According to the KOONB, the movie talks about 14 years of friendship, respect, love, and jealousy of two friends who met at the age of 13. The film quickly expanded its popularity in China, and as a result of being produced by Peter Chan - director of "Comrades: Almost a Love Story."
The main actresses of the original movie also made waves as they grew to become recipients of the "Best Actress Award" on a movie competition in Taiwan called "Golden Horse Awards."
Kim Da Mi, who received several rookie awards with her exemptional performance in the film "The Witch," and became well-known in the hit drama "Itaewon Class," will be dwelling in a completely new character with "Soulmate."
Portraying the role of Jo Yi-Seo in "Itaewon Class" became Kim Da Mi's successful debut on the small screen, which gave her the "Best New Actress Award" on the 56th Baeksang Arts Awards, reports KDramaStars.
When Kim Da Mi was asked about her thoughts about the movie, she said she is very excited about returning on the big screen and working with the director Min Yong Geun and actress Jeon So Nee.
Byun Woo Seok, who made an excellent performance in "Flower Crew: Joseon Marriage Agency," was also added in the line up for the remake. And aside from the remake of "Soulmate," the actor is also set to star with Park Bo Gum and Park So Damin "Record of Youth" in September.
As a fan of original films, Byun Woo Seok expressed that it is an honor to work with the staff and the director he wanted to work with for a long time and the actors he dreamed of acting with.
Moreover, Jeon So Nee, who debuted as an actress in 2015 and appeared in the drama series "Encounter" with Song Hye Kyo and Park Bo Gum is bound to contribute colors for the remake of "Soulmate." The actress was recognized in her role in movies "After my Death," "Jo Pil-Ho: The Dawning Rage," "Ghost Walk," and in the recent drama series "When My Love Blooms."
Jeon So Nee shared that she is more than happy to work with the "Soulmate's" team. She said that she always wanted to create a good project that touches to heart of the viewers.
With Min Yong Geun as the director of the Korean remake, the production team aims to start filming "Soulmate" in August, Soompi wrote.
