BTS' 'Map Of The Soul: 7 -The Journey-' Album Dominates Oricon's Charts
The Bangtan Boys are on the Oricon throne again!
Fresh from the market, Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~ Japanese album by BTS, skyrocketed to the no. 1 spot on Japan's Oricon Daily Album Charts.
'Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~' was dropped by the all-boy K-Pop ensemble on July 15 (Wednesday). The chart-topping album is the band's first Japanese LP in over two years.
In our very own report, the album consists of 13 tracks: 8 Japanese reimagined tracks from BTS previous albums Love Yourself: Answer, Map of the Soul: Persona, and Map of the Soul: 7; 1 pre-released single; and three original Japanese composition tracks.
As per Soompi, the Japan renowned music statistics site, Oricon, listed the Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~ as the no. 1 album on July 15, with approximately 447,869 sales.
This is now BTS' peak for first-day Japanese album sales on Oricon. Their last Japanese album, "Face Yourself," had sold over 188,085 copies during the first day of its release in April 2018.
Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~ is now available for streaming in Apple Music and Spotify. An actual album is yet to be released on August 7.

With BTS' Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~ on the Oricon's Daily Album Charts no. 1 spot, all-girl K-Pop idols TWICE simultaneously dominated Oricon's Weekly Singles Charts, Allkpop reported.
BTS and TWICE prove that K-Pop is now dominating the world, overshadowing borders and cultures.
With K-Pop being introduced around the world, the K-Pop artists dominating Japan are entirely unexpected, considering the beef that happened between South Korea and Japan that started last year.
Meanwhile, BTS dethroned Michael Jackson as Oricon's first foreign artist to peak Oricon's midyear album sales chart. Having a total sales of 429,000 for their Korean categorized album Map of the Soul: 7 in Japan, the latter Map of the Soul: 7 ~The Journey~ has outdone the figures in just 24 hours.
