South Korean singer John Park is confirmed to have tested positive with COVID-19, his managing label confirms. 

On January 18, Monday, Music Farm confirmed their artist John Park's positive diagnosis with COVID-19. The agency further noted they are currently taking extra precautionary measures and had the staff who closely crossed paths with John Park undergo COVID-19 testing. 

The label confirmed to his fans that John Park is asymptomatic and is not experiencing any life-threatening symptoms as of this writing. Moreover, John Park is immediately transferred to a quarantine facility to receive appropriate treatment for COVID-19, following the health authorities' guidelines. 

Furthermore, the agency took the chance to apologize to fans worried about John Park following his positive diagnosis with COVID-19. Music farm promised the public to abide by the government restrictions and health authorities' protocols to avoid further transmission of the virus in their establishment and studios.  

Music Farm will announce updates concerning John Park's health status once progress is made. Check Music Farm's Instagram account for more updates and information on John Park's condition.

Meanwhile, several K-pop idols also have acquired the virus, including UP10TION's Bitto and Kogyeol, Chungha, KARA's Park Gyuri, Everglow's Yiren, and Sihyeom, and Mr. Trot's Lee Chan-won. Due to the rising number of infected citizens in South Korea, the government decided to restrict public gatherings and crowded celebrations. 

This caused some production plans to temporarily suspend operations as other staff tests positive for the virus.  

An industry executive commented on the matter:

"Without vaccines and treatments, the best way of preventing infection is wearing protective masks, but this job requires showing our face on the screen. If there is an asymptomatic patient around at the recording site, a clustered infection could break out as we have to take off our masks throughout the broadcasting time."
