MONSTA X's Kihyun kicks off 2021 with a generous donation to children from low-income households. 

On January 18, Monday, MONSTA X's Kihyun has officially made a total of 10 million won donation to the non-government organization, Good Neighbors. The monetary donation will purchase necessary kits and sanitary products for young girls whose family has low-income and other children in need.

MONSTA X's Kihyun has a previous record of donating to Good Neighbors in March 2020; the K-pop idol made a charitable donation amounting to 100 million to help Good Neighbors fund facilities in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, which were greatly affected by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Moreover, due to consistent monetary aid, the NGO 'Good Neighbor' is getting from MONSTA X's Kihyun and its fandom MONBEBE, the organization awarded them the title of 'The Neighbors Club.' 

The award is granted to those who have donated at least 10 million won a year, plus those individuals who are actively engaging through the non-government organization's campaign to help boost the culture of lending a hand to those in dire need. 

Meanwhile, MONSTA X had successfully bag several awards at the recently held awarding ceremonies last year. Check out the list of awards they obtained in 2020 below:

  • Stage of the Year Award - 2020 Asia Artist Awards
  • Best Performance - 2020 Melon Music Awards
  • This Year's Artist - The Fact Music Awards
  • Best Stage - 2020 Mnet Asian Music Awards 

Following their recent victories as a group, Kihyun shared his profound gratitude to fans who made it possible for MONSTA X to reach this far.

In a speech, he said, "Thanks to the fans' support, we were able to receive big awards at the end of last year, and I resolved to make a donation because I wanted to share the happiness of receiving the awards. I hope to contribute at least a little bit so that the children needing a helping hand during these difficult times can mature in good health."

Furthermore, the director of marketing of Good Neighbors, Hwang Sung Joo, also expressed how grateful the whole organization is to MONSTA X's Kihyun for always taking the extra mile to help and aid children who especially needs protection and care during this COVID-19 pandemic.

Hwang Sung Joo further noted that the donation would also be used to provide professional services to benefit the children, in addition to the monetary support fr young girls from low-income families.
