K-pop Idols Who Got Massive Hate For Returning To The Entertainment Industry
It is quite common for K-Pop idols to withdraw after unfortunate happenings, others even resort to retiring after being unable to recover from the controversies.
Meanwhile, other idols took the chance to return to the limelight. Although some were warmly welcomed, the following icons were unfortunately criticized for trying to get back to the industry.
Wonder Girls' Sunye
Sunye started her career as Wonder Girls' member in 2007 but left in 2012 after revealing she is marrying James Park, a Candian Korean. Sunye also announced that she would be moving to Canada.
Sunye's choice back then had been doubted and criticized by the netizens. Sunye left the band before her contract with JYP Entertainment expired after numerous people on social media called her a traitor, seeing her choice as utterly selfish.
In 2018, Sunye was reportedly signing a contract with Polaris Entertainment to return to the industry. However, netizens still see Sunye as the leader who deceived her party. Sunye got ridiculed in the end.
Former J.Y.J.'s Park Yoochun
In 2019, following many controversies, including drug and sexual harassment, Park Yoochun planned to quit from the entertainment world.
However, in 2020, Park Yoochun confirmed his comeback as a celebrity, which was surprising news. Announcing his latest photobook was among the first things he had done.
Netizens were not happy about his sudden return to the industry because they thought he should have retired after the numerous offenses he was charged with.
BIGBANG's T.O.P.
In 2017, T.O.P. was involved in a controversy with Han Seo Hee after admitting he smoked Marijuana with the latter. His reputation went down after the dispute back then.
However, it was recently reported that the existing members of BIGBANG would be renewing their contracts with YG Entertainment. Most of the netizens criticized T.O.P. for even attempting to come back as most of them assumed that the idol had already given up on his career.
