Red Velvet And ITZY Are Winners For Best Digital Song Awards During The 35th Golden Disc Awards
The 35th Golden Disc Awards hailed Red Velvet and ITZY as winners for the Best Digital Song Awards for receiving big love throughout 2020.
The earlier reveal was LOONA and THE BOYZ taking home the GDA Next Generations Award. In their speech, the two groups shared that taking the stage at the awarding ceremony is their first since their debut.
In the category of Music, Red Velvet and ITZY won the honorable main prize for digital songs.
ITZY Takes The Award
As the girl group ITZY accepted the award, the members shared that they are so grateful and mentioned their fans, MIDZY, for being the reason for the achievement. "ITZY will always try to provide everyone with positive energy," the group said.
The quintet recently announced on Twitter that they would be releasing a new album on January 22, 2021, at 2 p.m. KST.
The new album will be featuring English versions of their songs. This will include their 2020 smash hit, Not Shy, and the English versions of WANNABE, ICY, and DALLA DALLA.
Furthermore, one hour before the album drops, ITZY will have a countdown live at Naver NOW.
Red Velvet In Full Gratitude
Simultaneously, Red Velvet also won the Best Digital Song with Psycho. The group expressed their gratitude in a video clip. The quintet said they are glad that they won the fantastic award due to everyone enjoying their song.
"This year, Red Velvet plans to work in various fields. Please look forward to it," they added.
In the 35th Golden Disc Awards, The Digital Song Award goes to the digital music released from November of 2019 to November of 2020.
The event with CURAPROX aired on the afternoon of the 9th (KST). THE BOYZ, MAMAMOO, MONSTA X, Lee Seung Gi, ITZY, Noeul, NU'EST, IU, OH MY GIRL, LOONA, and Changmo attended this day's ceremony.
