BLACKPINK's 'Whistle' track MV has reached a total of 600 million views on YouTube following their MV track, 'Playing With Fire.' 

On December 30, Wednesday, BLACKPINK's 'Whistle' MV has officially become the group's 7th MV hit to reach 600 million views on YouTube. This track was released in August 2016 as one of BLACKPINK's debut track along with 'BOOMBAYAH.'

'Whistle' MV has officially marked its 600 million views milestone today, December 30. The track took four years, four months, and 21 days to beat the record.

Moreover, BLACKPINK's 'Whistle' is their seventh YouTube MV to reach 600 million views today following the hit songs 'DDU-DU-DDU-DU,' 'BOOMBAYAH,' 'As If It's Your Last,' 'Kill This Love,' 'How You Like That,' and 'Playing With Fire.'

BLACKPINK has been setting off the Korean girl group's record act this year following their successful comeback in the K-pop scene. BLACKPINK is also set to make a virtual concert this coming January 2021, updated by YG Entertainment.

'Whistle' Recognitions

'Whistle' debuted on Billboard's 'The 100 Greatest K-pop Songs of the 2010's' ranking at No. 26 and making it to Medium's '25 Best K-pop Song of the 2010s.'

Billboard K-Twon's Jeff Benjamin also commended the track described 'Whistle' as "the hip-hop sensibilities and club-ready sounds with which their seniors gained an international following."

Moreover, 'Whistle' debuted to Finland's Soumen virallinen lista at No.24, Philippines' 'Philippine Hot 100,' at No. 95, Gaon Digital Chart at No. 1, and to US World Digital Songs at No. 2.

Following BLACKPINK's big break in the K-pop scene, BLACKPINK won the 'Best Music Video' title for 'Whistle' in Mnet Asian Music Awards in 2016 and bag the win for 'Song Of The Year' (August) category in 2017 Gaon Chart Music Award.
