Red Velvet's Joy Talks About Insecurities, Aging, And More With Allure Korea
Red Velvet's Joy is the newest cover model of Allure Korea magazine! The young idol shares her thoughts on approaching adulthood, a healthy lifestyle, and more.
On December 269, Tuesday, Soompi reported exclusive details on Red Velvet Joy's interview with Allure Korea. Red Velvet's Joy shared how she is not yet ready to turn one year older, despite the year coming to an end in just a few days.
Joy explained that since the COVID-19 pandemic restricts public gatherings, she couldn't experience so many activities, including her birthday this year. When asked about her thoughts of turning 26 next year, Joy felt the pressure of entering adulthood, as she recalls the days when she started under SM Entertainment at such a young age.
As many people turn older every year, they often get questioned if they ever get tired of fulfilling their life goals. Red Velvet's Joy has a different perspective when it comes to 'feeling tired' in her career, with a sense of responsibility and maturity, Joy shared she's been doing her best to decide everything on her own.
"I don't know about tired. I thought that I knew myself, but it turns out I didn't. I'm not even sure if I'm going in the right direction. Since then, I've been practicing how to live my best life. I'm trying to act, judge, and think for myself without the help of my agency, managers, or family."
Moreover, Allure Korea asked Red Velvet's Joy if she gets disappointed as she grows older, to which the idol denied and described herself as a very 'optimistic' person. Joy admitted to avoiding negative thoughts about the past, present, and future and would always take time and effort to work on herself.
Furthermore, Joy was asked what comes to her mind when people say 'Joy's face.' The young idol revealed that she was once insecure about not getting the perfect face like any other Korean celebrities have when she debuted, but eventually, Joy realized the importance of self-value.
Focusing more on her own than other people's standards, Red Velvet's Joy added that loving yourself is the most important thing in the world.
