Is Red Velvet Performing With All Five Members On SM Live Concert? K-Netizens Debate
Will Red Velvet's Irene join her co-members' performance in the SM Live concert next year? K-Netizens debate on whether Red Velvet will make a full-membered comeback performance or not in an online forum.
On December 28, Monday, K-netizens debate and exchange thoughts on whether Red Velvet will be making a full-member comeback performance on SM's Live Concert next year. Following Irene's attitude controversy, Red Velvet has not participated in any media appearances, as netizens lashed out at Red Velvet's Irene due to her poor behavior shown in her substitute stylist.
As SM Entertainment announces the line-up for their free SM Live Concert happening on January 1, led by K-pop groups, KANGTA, SUPER JUNIOR, TAEYEON, SHINee's Taemin, EXO's Baekhyun and Kai, NCT U, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, Way V, SuperM, Aespa, Raiden, GINJO, IMALY, and Red Velvet.
K-netizens wonder if Irene would be included in the performance. Some of the online users expressed their thoughts in the announcement.
Although not yet certain about Red Velvet's full-member performance, a user who seemed to be a fan expressed how it's lonely to not see Seulgi perform on stage following Irene's scandal. The user hoped that Seulgi would make a solo debut soon, if possible.
Moreover, one user explained it would help Red Velvet appear as four members on stage to avoid stirring a bad reputation from the public following Irene's behavior controversy. This was backed up by other commenters, who were eager to see Wendy after her long hiatus, excluding Irene.
K-netizens expressed strong disapproval on seeing Red Velvet's Irene performing on stage with other members as she dragged down and tainted the image of the whole girl group following her shocking scandal. The netizens claimed that they would just support the remaining four members who are not self-centered.
Despite the mad comments, other netizens still hope Red Velvet would return on stage as a five-membered group. One netizen stood up for Irene, whose comment reads, "Irene is not a criminal; why can't she attend?"
