Im Joo Hwan sat down with Maeil Business Newspaper's Star Today interview to share his thoughts on his recently ended drama project, 'The Spies Who Loved Me.'

On December 25, Friday, Soompi shared exclusive spoiler details on the ending of the drama 'The Spies Who Loved Me.' As Derek Hyun did not want to choose between his wife and his mother, he then decided to fake his death, all characters in the story somehow get a good ending except for him.

When asked if he's satisfied with 'The Spies Who Loved Me,' ending, Im Joo Hwan responded positively. The young actor expressed how the ending was very acceptable on his part, and that the scene reflected true to life decisions such as 'leaving' to protect the ones you love.

Furthermore, Im Joo Hwan explained some key points on why it satisfied him the most while other viewers didn't, he added that love comes in all forms, and Im Joo Hwan thinks that Derek Hyun chose to leave on purpose.

" I don't want to see Kang Ah Reum lose her confidence.' Even though it hurt him, he left to protect Ah Reum. Ah Reum has given up on Derek Hyun and has moved on, but he wants her to not waver in her choices. I think that I would have acted the same way in his shoes," Im Joo Hwan said.

However, Im Joo Hwan admitted to feeling a little sad for his character as he can never experience peace because of his reputation as a spy. As for Derek Hyun's future, Im Joo Hwan predicted it would be an honorable thing for his character to work under proper justice, instead of chasing profits, which Im Joo Hwan believes Derek Hyun will realize in the end.

Lastly, Im Joo Hwan was given a chance to rate his acting skills in the ending of his drama project as 7 over 10, the young actor remarked he would have given it a perfect score if it was a romance-comedy, which he is good at. Nevertheless, Im Joo Hwan claimed he would always accept any genres but personally would like to try a character which does not require to wear suits.
