Kang Seung Yoon on 'Kairos': 'The Best Set I've Ever Been On'
Kang Seung Yoon sat down for an interview with Newsen after the end of his MBC drama Kairos. There, he talked about his journey in the character of Gun Wook and the superb teamwork of the cast on the set.
Kang Seung Yoon played the role of Gun Wook in Kairos. The character is a close friend of Han Ae Ri (Lee Se Young), who played a crucial role in solving the "time-crossed" mystery.
Contributing an original soundtrack for the drama
Kang Seung Yoon revealed that he was very fortunate enough to record an OST (original soundtrack) for Kairos, titled Can You Hear Me.
He added that when he was recording the song, he felt like it was a recreation of the story in Kairos. And just like the song title, Can You Hear Me, the drama is about the importance of two people connecting through words, even if it's just for a minute, he shared.
The idol-actor said that he sang the song, thinking about how he could bring that meaning to life. He pointed out that he also wanted to make his voice sound appropriate for the drama.
"I'm grateful that the viewers seemed to relate to the song and gave it a good reception," he added.
The actor on what he learned from the drama
The actor also divulged that after spending half a year with his character Gun Wook, he feels like he became one with him. Kang Seung Yoon said that he is also grateful to have learned so much working on a good set with good people and felt disappointed about leaving.
The actor honestly expressed that he had so much fun filming every day that I can say that it was the best set I'd ever been on.
Before he thanked all his fans for supporting the drama, he shared what he has learned throughout the journey. He shared that he could develop the mindset of 'let's work hard to understand. He shared that he realized anew the importance of focusing on acting and immersing yourself in your character.
