BTS V's 'Sweet Night' From 'Itaewon Class' Is the Top OST Of 2020: Genius Korea
BTS V further proved his global popularity once again as his personally written, produced, and sung OST for the popular drama series Itaewon Class, "Sweet Night," becomes the No. 1 OST for 2020 as declared by Genius Korea.
The first solo soundtrack of V went straight on top of the US iTunes within a few hours from the debut. V of BTS has been known to be conquering the global music charts with numerous records. And one of his most notable achievements is his steady rule over the world's biggest music markets.
The 'Itaewon Class' OST
The indie-pop, Sweet Night, is BTS's V gift to his fans this year. Along with its reign is the soaring popularity of the drama Itaewon Class. The song has already proven to be the most successful Korean OST internationally and is still breaking records. On the list of "Top OSTs of 2020" released by Genius Korea, Sweet Night ranked #1, proving its massive popularity in Korea.
Despite being unprompted and having limited plays in the K-Drama Itaewon Class, the track impresses with its vast scope of popularity. What's more impressive with the track's feat is its won title at the APAN Star Awards, "Best OST 2020."
More Staggering Achievements Of The Track
The song becomes the most-streamed Korean OST of 2020 and the second most-streamed song by a solo artist on the platform on Spotify.
Notedly, this year, BTS's V only released one song, Sweet Night, but despite that, he still managed to rank 8th on Rolling Stone India's' Top 20 K-pop artists on Spotify India in 2020' list.
Previously, V joined @BTS_twt J-Hope, RM, and Jeongguk and PSY and Younha as the only Korean soloists to reach #1 on iTunes US.
With this, V's popularity has been proven unparalleled and something rare and something to be celebrated.
