BTS Remains At The Top With 'BE' In Its 2nd Week On 'Billboard 200'
After snagging a historic Grammy Awards nomination last week and claiming their fifth No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with BE, BTS's latest album continues to go strong on the Billboard 200!
The Bangtan boys made history last week as their newly released album BE hit the number 1 spot on the famous Billboard's Top 200.
The Unstoppable Seven
The newest feat achieved by BTS with its new title track Life Goes On debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100, making BTS the very first male artist to debut a song and an album at No. 1 on the two charts in the same week.
Furthermore, the septet becomes the only second overall artist in Billboard history. To date, Taylor Swift is the only other artist to have accomplished the feat.
For the record, BTS is now the only Korean artist to top the Billboard 200 with five different albums. In just two years and six months, BTS to achieve the feat.
The number streak of BTS began in June 2018 with "Love Yourself: Tear." This is followed by "Love Yourself: Answer," "Map of the Soul: Persona," and most recently, "Map of the Soul: 7."
The legendary group, The Beatles, was the last group to top the Billboard 200 with five consecutive albums so quickly. They hit No. 1 five times between July 30, 1966, and December 28, 1968.
More to this, The Beatles was also the last group to rack up their first five No. 1s so quickly, taking just under one year and five months to achieve the feat.
The Most Favorite Of The Season
Billboard officially announced on December 6 that "BE" had taken No. 3 in the second week on the Billboard 200 chart. Ending on December 3, the album earned 55,000 equivalent album units for the week as divulged by Nielsen Music.
