BLACKPINK To Receive 'Group Of The Year' Award In Upcoming Variety Hitmakers Program

As reported by Allkpop, the K-pop femme fatale of YG Entertainment has been chosen as Variety’s Group of the Year for 2020. The matter was announced on Variety's website on November 20 (Friday) and wrote BLACKPINK under the said award.
Furthermore, as BLACKPINK received the Group of the Year award, the queens also mark the first instance of them bagging the impressive title.
Owning up to their tags as K-pop queens, the quartet proves that amid the restrictions of today in letting them showcase its magnificent music in-person, it is not a hindrance to be classified as the outstanding group of 2020.
The impressive new award of BLACKPINK comes in handy as the latest international recognition addition, going waves with other famous artists like English singer Harry Styles, Latino superstar J Balvin, and more.
BLACKPINK set to carry the K-culture in Variety’s Hitmakers program
Soompi finds that Variety will be facilitating a special program in December in celebration and honor of the awardees of its much-coveted crowns. And with that said, the award recipients would get a feature in the forthcoming annual Hitmakers issue of Variety. The said issue is set to be out on December 2.
Furthermore, alongside BLACKPINK is former One Direction member Harry Styles for the Hitmaker of the Year award. Other awardees include Benee, Jenna Andrews, and Josh Fountain for Isolation Salvation Song of the Year, J Balvin for Collaborator of the Year, Roddy Ricch for Breakthrough Artist of the Year.
Other names are Charli XCX and A. G. Cook for Innovator of the Year, Lewis Capaldi for Songwriter of the Year, Maren Morris for Crossover Artist of the Year, Interscope Geffen A&M for Label of the Year, Mustard for Producer of the Year.
Concluding the list is Wassim “Sal” Slaiby for Manager of the Year and Ron Perry for Executive of the Year.
