Netizens Claim TWICE Looked Terrified During Their Encore Stages
TWICE took home first place for I CAN'T STOP ME on Show Champion and M! Countdown on Wednesday and Thursday (November 4-5, 2020). During the girls' performances, as they did their encore stages, netizens have seen a terrified and awkward look of TWICE.
The girls were seen standing still for the Show Champion encore stage when it was their time to sing and dancing while waiting for their turn. They all had straight faces during their singing and only started cracking a bit and joking around when they finish singing their parts. The netizens watching their performances claimed that the girls looked nervous.
The Visible Difficulties
During the performances, the netizens also commented about Nayeon, who sings the most in the song. They said that the singer chooses not to sing her high notes due to its difficulty.
Furthermore, Jihyo stopped the girls from singing at one point during their Show Champion stage and asked them to share their thoughts and thanks, and fans felt something was off.
In most cases, the encore stage is a chance for fans to hear their favorite idols sing live. The presenters also get to say their thank-you speeches after accepting the award. The speculation of the people is they did it to avoid singing.
It was a mixed emotion for the netizens watching and listening to TWICE's Show Champion stage. Others agree that the girls look nervous and scared, probably because they lack confidence in their skills.
On the other hand, some netizens were mean to the girls saying that they lack singing skills.
During the M! Countdown performance of the girls, they were seen testing their mic often. The girls were again seen as awkward and nervous about messing up. Nayeon was caught singing her high notes. However, the girls still did not look too excited to be on stage.
With the netizens as critics, they believe that the song is too high for them to sing. They were hoping that JYP Entertainment considers the vocal range of their singers in giving pieces to them.
Although the stage for this music scene was better, other fans still think that the girls deserve songs to be themselves and make them feel confident.
Netizens commented on social media, saying, "Isn't the song too high? Seriously, JYP Entertainment should give them songs that will match their skills." "I like TWICE. The members seem sincere in their craft, and I know that they dance hard and dance so well. However, their songs seem too difficult for the members' singing skills," said another netizen.
