Kim Nam Gil In Talks To Star In The New OCN Drama ‘Island’ With Seo Ye Ji
Kim Nam Gil reportedly offered to star in a new drama Island along with Seo Ye Ji!
Ilgan Sports reported on November 4 that Kim Nam Gil might be starring as the lead in the new OCN drama Island (literal). According to the statements, Island will be filming next year after spring and launch in the second half of 2021.
A reliable source from OCN shared following the reports that Kim Nam Gil is currently assessing the offer to cast in OCN’s Island film. It is still undecided when will be the concrete broadcast schedule.
Island is a fantasy genre based on a webtoon of the same name that will tell the story of a man needing a woman to cease his cursed immortal life. The woman is a rich and beautiful heiress dismissed by her family to Jeju Island after being involved in a controversy.
The island was beautiful yet possessed evil darkness where monsters and goblins have been lying waiting to destroy the human world. The two stars joined by an exorcist priest. The three characters that seem unlikely to get along will protect each other as they gather their strengths.
If Kim Nam Gil would take the offer, he will be transforming into the sexy monster hunter Van. He noticeably lacked the skills to adjust to reality. Hunting, slicing, and killing monsters are all he does.
However, Seo Ye Jin also stars in the drama as the daughter of a wealthy family whom the goblin targets, Won Mi Ho.
Director Bae Jong will helm the new OCN drama Island, written by scriptwriter Jang Yoon Mi. Kim Nam Gil recently stars in the tvN variety show K-Ocean Pathfinders and is preparing for his upcoming film Declaration of Emergency.
He is also working independently due to the expiration of his exclusive contract with C-JeS Entertainment. The drama Island will be his first drama since The Fiery Priest, if ever he accepts the offer.
