5 BTS Members Confirmed Enrollment To Pursue Higher Education
In the busiest time of BTS' career run, the septet proved that schooling is still an important thing!
According to Koreaboo, BTS members- RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, and V have enrolled in an MBA (Master of Business Administration) program, focusing on advertising media.
On July 7, Big Hit Entertainment revealed that RM, Suga, and J-Hope had been enrolled at Hanyang University's Graduate School since March 2019 (First semester), studying advertising media for their MBA program.
Scheduled this September 2020 (Second Semester), Jimin and V will be entering the Hanyang Cyber University's Graduate School as well to take up the same major for their MBA program.
Jin had been enrolled in Hanyang Cyber University's Graduate School since 2017, while the youngest of the group- Jungkook is studying at Global Cyber University with a major in Broadcasting and Entertainment.
There were rumors that the enrollment of BTS' five members in post-graduate education is Big Hit's plan to delay the superstars' military service. However, the Military Manpower Administration revised the Military Service Act in 2018 to prevent military service postponement due to graduate school and activities, such as public relations ambassadors. According to Big Hit Entertainment, "The member's admission to graduate school is not due to their military service, but they all wanted to go to school because they have the will and desire to study."
Hanyang Cyber University is among the 21 online Universities in Korea. Due to coronavirus threats, the interview for the BTS members went through an online process, and all the five members were accepted.
BTS celebrated Jin's graduation with fans over the live show on Naver's V Live on February 22, 2017. Jin graduated from Konkuk University with a major in Film Studies.
In the live video, Jin appeared first on the video explaining that the reason he was not able to attend the ceremony is that the group was at the 6th Gaon Chart Music awards at that time, wrote Soompi. Since he missed his graduation, he decided to do a ceremony of his own.
Meanwhile, RM, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, and V graduated from Global Cyber University with a major in Broadcasting and Entertainment.
Jin will be enlisting first among the BTS members at the end of 2020 or in the early part of 2021.
