BLACKPINK Surpasses BTS, Securing A Spot At The Top 40 Hits In U.K.
2020 proved to be BLACKPINK's strongest year, even with only two songs released so far!
As they continue to rise after making their awaited comeback, the talented group hits new high rates and milestones. The pop group succeeded in landing another massive hit in the U.K. this year with their latest hit track "How you like that," as per Forbes.
BLACKPINK's latest song "How You Like That" debuted No. 20 in the Top 40 of United Kingdom's Official Singles Chart, which is a great feat for the girls. The ranking is based on official sales from downloads, CD, vinyl, audio streams, and video streams.
On July 7, BLACKPINK debuted in the Top 40 Of Billboard Hot 100 with "How You Like That."
When it comes to the record-breaking hits, the quartet has already defeated almost every South Korean name and acts. BLACKPINK is classified as one of the most celebrated artists in South Korea today, along with their boy group counterpart, BTS!
Singer-producer PSY, who previously charted on the Top 40 hits in the U.K., now falls behind BLACKPINK and BTS. For a while, PSY was the only name from the Asian country to claim more than one, but he has long since been bested in this fashion, although he remains the only star to chart more than a single Top 10 smash per Forbes report.
Just a month ago, BLACKPINK and Lady Gaga released a collaboration track titled "Sour Candy" which charted and reached No. 17 on the singles chart in the U.K. and coincidentally became the third longest-charting song by a Korean girl group in U.K. history.
The girls have landed a second Top 20 hit on the said chart and accumulated their first without external help, proving that they no longer have difficulty penetrating the competitive range in the U.K.
