The upcoming drama Birthcare Center cast and director share about the drama’s story, the chemistry, and more!
tvN held an online press conference for the upcoming drama Birthcare Center with the stars Uhm Ji Won, Jang Hye Jin, Park Ha Sun, Yoon Park, and director Park Soo Won last October 26.
A Relatable Story: Director
Birthcare Center is a Monday-Tuesday drama series that tells about Hyun Jin (played by Uhm Ji Won), who had a glittering career in work life. She is the youngest executive in her company and the oldest mom at the center for mothers and newborn babies. She had a rough time giving birth, and while staying at the center, she meets and interacts with fellow mothers, including Jo Eun Jung (played by Park Ha Sun).
Director Park Soo Won commented that Birthcare Center is a drama that might be relatable to many as a successful career woman fell into a mental rut overnight after becoming a mom. It is also a drama that heals, for she will be accompanied by other mothers to become friends who comfort one another. He also added and wanted to introduce the drama that could give enjoyment and comfort.
The Unhesitant Cast
All of the actors shared that they instantly agreed to be part and appear in the Birthcare Center drama after they read the script.
Park Ha Sun describes her role as charming and thought of regretting when she missed it out. She will take the part of Jo Eun Jung, a mother of three who has everything like beauty, childcare ability, and her husband’s love.
On the other hand, Uhm Ji Won will portray Oh Hyun Jin, who worked hard to reach success. She said that as a woman of similar ages living in the same era, she believed that they could relate and have fun.
Jang Hye Jin portrays the role of Choi Hye Sook, referred to as the “mother” of the center and “president” of the newborns. She was the director of the birth care center. Uhm Ji Won gave similar points and explained her curiosity while reading the script and eagerly wanted to see it visually. She felt new to think back for seventeen and five years, respectively, from birth to her first and second child. She thought of a birth care center to be a special place where two aspects would shine through: provides stability and anxiety at the same time.
Yoon Park plays the role of Kim Do Woon, who is head over heels for his wife Oh Hyun Jin and the CEO of an app development start-up. He also added that he enjoyed the script yet find it difficult due to his schedules.
Moreover, Park Ha Sun revealed the cast’s chemistry that he felt a little worried if there would be tension because there were so many female actresses.
Uhm Ji Won raised curiosity when she shared that they talk about breastfeeding and breast pain, which is in the script, and felt worried. She also took the chance to invite the viewers to look forward to how fun and they were able to address being a mother.
Yoon Park also made everybody laugh when he commented about learning that the husband needs to be present as if he was not and not be there as if he was. Uhm Ji Won added that they would also tell the story of dads and different actors to appear as Yoon Park’s teachers.
Lastly, Directed Park Soo Woon explained that the drama has eight-part noir series but hopes to receive many extension requests. He shared that people are wondering why there are only eight parts.
