BTS’s 2014 Mini-Album ‘Skool Luv Affair’ Re-Released & Enters On Billboard 200 This Week
BTS’s 2014 mini-album “Skool Luv Affair” debuts at the Billboard 200 after its re-release in this week’s list.
Recently, Big Hit Entertainment held an online poll on the Weverse application to which out-of-stock or out-of-print albums ARMYs would want the company to re-release. As it turns out, “Skool Luv Affair” received the most number of votes on the social platform and was re-released on October 13, 2020.
BTS’s official Youtube page BANGTANTV, released the “Skool Luv Affair Special Edition” video to celebrate its re-release. In the video, ARMYs can feel nostalgic after seeing the boys from their 2014 counterparts, who have young faces.
The 2014 album entered the Billboard 200 this week at the No. 12 spot as the Music Chart announced the good news via social media on October 26, 2020. “Skool Luv Affair” is the 12th album from BTS to enter the Music Charts, which ranks the most popular albums in the United States across all genres.
Meanwhile, BTS’s global-hit single “Dynamite” maintains its supremacy at the Billboard’s Global 200 at the number one spot for three consecutive weeks.
The Global 200 ranks the most popular tracks internationally based on sales and streaming data compiled by Nielsen Music/MRC Data from more than 200 territories. It takes the top spot with 74.8 million streams and 24,000 downloads sold globally during the week ending October 22.
Besides that, BTS's "Dynamite" has been awarded a silver certification on October 23 from the British Phonographic Industry after achieving 200,000 units. This is the second single from the K-pop group to have a silver certification in the United Kingdom, after "Boy With Luv" featuring Halsey received in February 2019.
In other related news, BTS has been nominated for Favorite Duo or Group - Pop/Rock and Favorite Social Artist Awards at the 2020 American Music Awards. The group is has won the last year’s ceremony and is nominated against fellow K-pop artists such as EXO and NCT 127.
The American Music Awards will air on November 22, 2020, on ABC at 8 PM ET/PT from the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
