JYP Entertainment Releases New Statement Regarding Allegations Against GOT7’s Youngjae
JYP Entertainment issues a new statement on the bullying allegations made against GOT7’s Youngjae after meeting with his accuser.
On October 22, JYP released a new statement regarding GOT7 member Yougjae after a bullying allegation against the idol. The latest report from the record label states that the company has met with the author of the previous post and that the accuser has no vital evidence that the school bullying takes place.
JYP stated in the letter; “We met with the individual who wrote the post about Youngjae, and although the author of the post made claims that matched what they have written online, they were unable to provide any evidence to support their allegations that school violence had taken place.”
The company also warns netizens, who spread false stories about their artists such as Youngjae and others to stop or JYP Entertainment will be forced to take legal action and file a case on the grounds of libel.
The rumors started to spread on October 20, when a netizen posted online that Youngjae committed an act of bullying when they were students at Mokpo Technical High School. The author of the post added that the idol would take their money and other valuables and hit them for no reason since they have an intellectual disability and hearing loss.
Moreover, JYP Entertainment responded to the allegations that states that Youngjae did quarrel once back in High School with a classmate that led to a physical fight and both parties left the school on bad terms. However, the agency talked to the idol and said that the claims of bullying against him are false.
The record label added that it would take precise action based on the principle to identify the truth about this situation and would prepare appropriate measures accordingly.
On October 21, there were reports that a Korean netizen was pointing out that the accuser’s post was deleted immediately after JYP Entertainment released an official statement regarding Youngjae’s bullying allegations.
