Key Terms to Take Note of Before Watching The Upcoming Drama “When My Love Blooms”
tvN's "When My Love Blooms" is nearing its premiere! It's a drama that will bring back two people after their first love affair way back their college years in the 1990s. Their reunion will bring back the couple, now in their 40s. They will have a recollection of their enjoyable and memorable romance, giving them a second shot at love, sweeter than the first time.
Yoo Ji Tae and Lee Bo Young will play as Han Jae Hyun and Yoon Ji Soo. Meanwhile, GOT7's Jinyoung and Jeon So Nee will be their younger versions.
The drama will target both young and mature viewers. As the drama nears its premiere, tvN has released some key points for the viewers to take notice.
1. First love, HYYH
"Hwayangyeonhwa" or "HYYH," a BTS concept, which means the most beautiful and happiest moment in the life of one person, will be captured in the youthful and a love so pure, portrayed by the two young people in their innocent years as college students. The overwhelming distress of their farewell plays a significant moment in the drama.
However, their reunion will cause emotional influence and rippling feelings after so many years of not seeing each other. Uplifting moments await the characters which are highly expected from them. Who can ever forget their first love? Especially a love with different emotions and unforgettable memories that painted each other's youth?
2. Change, shadows of reality, mature romance
Jae Hyun, who was once a law student who sought fairness and equality, will significantly change in the complexity of being in an ambitious path, making him a successful businessman. On the other hand, Ji Soo, who was born wealthy since her father was a prosecutor, will become a mother to her son, making a living for them as a contract worker. By the way, Ji Soo was a piano major.
Viewers will be able to see their sensitive portrayal of their longing for the past and the reality of their current situation due to their noticeable change of lifestyle and path. Their reunion will have a "mature romance" since the two have already experienced their youth. It will also awaken sympathy now that they are positioned in the shadows of reality, where love and dreams are no more.
3. The 1990s, retro feeling, longing, rawness
The specific setting of the 1990s, college days of Jae Hyun and Ji Soo, is suitably striking. This particular nostalgic setting will bring back feelings of the past with its one of a kind and relaxing nature of the good old days while approaching other viewers the sense of unfamiliarity and rawness. Furthermore, music, movies, and fashion of the 1990s will be exhibited, bringing the atmosphere to a realistic setting because of its beautiful cinematography. As viewers, you will be able to go time-tripping of the past, which will be recreated on-screen.
Son Jung Hyun ("Should We Kiss First?" 2018) will be directing the drama series, and the screenplay will be written by Jun Hee Young.
"When My Love Blooms" will be available on Viki and is set to premiere on April 25 at 9 p.m. KST.
