RED VELVET's Yeri Reportedly Afraid Of Doing Live Streams Because Of Sasaengs
Red Velvet's Yeri is reportedly afraid of going on Instagram live streams because of 'sasaengs' or stalkers.
According to Koreaboo, Red Velvet member Yeri has confessed to her fear of being stalked by sasaengs. Aside from being outgoing and having a cheerful personality, the K-pop idol is also known for lending the extra mile for her fans by going live on Instagram to interact with her fans and whoever follows her account.
Using the platform 'Dear U' where fans and Idols get to message each other, Yeri revealed her plans to conduct and host a Q&A session with her beloved ReVeluvs (Red Velvet's fandom.) But all this came to a halt when she told fans she is 'scared' of going live because 'sasaengs' or stalkers would attempt to call and contact her.
It was June of this year when Yeri updated her fans through her Instagram live that it was getting hard on her part as these stalkers keep on contacting her even in her bedtime. A former Idol, who comes forth to reveal how such stalkers gather personal contacts of these K-pop Idols, asserts that they obtain it by manipulating and paying people working in Telecommunications companies. With Yeri experiencing such unfortunate events, she is no exception.
Just as Yeri tried to convey her thoughts on this situation, she was immediately swamped by calls and text messages by stalkers, prompting her to end the live broadcast right away and went on to update fans on 'Dear U' regarding the worsening situation. Despite the concern and Yeri not doing live broadcasts on Instagram lately, she still manages to put up Q&A posts on her Instagram story to keep her fans entertained.
Fans are trying to figure out a way to help the K-pop Idol. They even contacted her managing label SM Entertainment to add extra protection measures for their artists against stalkers and negative commenters. Like Yeri, fellow Red Velvet members Wendy, Joy, and Seulgi, also experience the same situation.
