CL Is WeVerse's New Solo Artist + Hints Contract With Big Hit Entertainment
The 29-year-old South Korean rapper Lee Chae-rin, who goes by the name CL of former K-pop group 2NE1, has confirmed its brightest and most significant move for this year. The female rapper who has been known for her talent in music was previously reported to make a comeback before the year ends.
And now, as per Soompi, CL has joined one of South Korea’s most prominent entertainment agencies Big Hit Entertainment, which takes care of the world’s most phenomenal K-pop band BTS.
Before CL announced her connection with the entertainment agency, rumors started surfacing online when WeVerse, an exclusive international K-pop community platform by Big Hit Entertainment, uploaded a photo on Twitter with a caption that says a new artist is coming on September 28.
The mysterious tweet made the K-pop fans go crazy as the photo’s silhouette best resembles CL’s signature pose. The matter led fans to gush over the fact that CL is coming back on the K-pop music scene as a solo artist since 2NE1 has disbanded.
One fan responded, “OMG NO DONT TELL ME THATS CL OF 2NE1 I WILL LEGIT PASS OUT.”
Another Twitter user said that the tweet is about CL, and no other than. One fan even yelled out IU’s name, but responses have been mostly pointing out to CL.
Having that said, CL opened a WeVerse fan community on September 28 (Monday), confirming her comeback and connection to Big Hit Entertainment. The said fan community allows the artist to interact and communicate with her fans worldwide, considering CL has a vast populace.
Furthermore, WeVerse shared that they warmly welcome CL, who has been on the full gear in promoting the K-pop culture in various stages worldwide. The agency exclaimed that they would fully support CL with a wide array of services so that the K-pop idol can communicate with her beloved fans more often.
