Im Joo Hwan Displays Variations Of His Character In Teaser For 'The Spies Who Loved Me'
Im Joo Hwan’s newly released still on MBC’s “The Spies Who Loved Me.”
The suspense-filled drama “The Spies Who Loved Me” tells a story of a woman caught up in a spy war with his two husbands. Yoo In Na will be Kang Ah Reum, a wedding dress designer who was married twice. Her two husbands have many secrets.
Shinhwa’s Eric will play the role of Jun Ji Hoon. He is the first husband of Kang Ah Reum, a charming and unpredictable secret agent working for the Interpool. Kang Ah Reum’s second husband is Im Joo Hwan, as Derek Hyun. He works as a highly intelligent corporate spy with a competitive streak.
Derek Hyun is a spy disguised as a diplomat. Although he is an endlessly sweet and caring husband to Kang Ah Reum, he is entirely different when it comes to business. The perfectly constructed world of Derek Hyun will begin to waver when Kang Ah Reum’s ex-husband comes.
The newly released stills reveal the two different sides of Derek Hyun. In the first photo, Derek Hyun looks romantic while holding a bouquet he bought for Kang Ah Reum. On top of his charming gesture, he is smiling like he could not wish for anything more.
On the second photo, it shows the cold aura of Derek Hyun with a sharp gaze. Without his gentle side, he entirely transforms into a cold-hearted corporate spy. Although his feelings for Kang Ah Reum is genuine, Derek Hyun remains secretive and adds tension to the story as he hides his true identity.
Furthermore, Im Joo Hwan revealed his reason for choosing the character in the drama. He shared that he has done much drama of melodramas and thriller. He wanted to try acting for a romantic comedy. Above all, the character of Derek Hyun is charismatic for him.
Im Joo Hwan continued that Derek Hyun is a figure who does not much know about love. Through Kang Ah Reum, he will eventually learn what love is and why that is love. His character, as Derek Hyun, is interesting because he is someone he can express his emotions. (Via Soompi)
