Minzy Revamps 'Tomboy' Image To 'Lovely'
Minzy's fans welcomed her brand new traditional feminine image as the former 2NE1 member sat on a live radio broadcast.
On June 29, in a post from Allkpop, Minzy made a special appearance in a live appearance on SBS Power FM's radio program 'Choi Hwa Jung's Power Time.' The DJ observed a new vibe from the former 2NE1 member since he saw her six years ago as a group member.
DJ Choi Hwa Jung states that he noticed that Minzy changed her image a lot. He admitted that he might not recognize the singer if she is in public.
Choi Hwa also expressed that Minzy is very cute and lovely in her new image. The DJ recalled the singer's past appearance way back in her 2NE1 days, which he considers as a "tomboy concept." The female singer replied that she wanted to speak a lot about her memories of being a member of 2NE1 because of the said concept.
Minzy revealed her flowery teaser for her comeback track "Lovely" on May 21. Three days after, the lovely singer released the music video of her second new track as a solo artist, marking her first comeback since she left the label Music Works back in April.
According to Soompi, Minzy wrote the lyrics of her new track. She dedicates the message of the song to herself and to her fans.
"Lovely" is an upbeat song that complemented the vocal prowess of Minzy. The music video features shots of the singer using bouquets as a significant prop. The MV also features the singer's elegant dresses, making the entire video so beautiful to watch.
Minzy debuted as a member of 2NE1 in 2019. She left the group in April 2016 and could not take part in the group's last song, "Goodbye."
Minzy released her first EP, Minzy Work 01: "Uno" in April 2017.
