Way, former Idol and CRAYON POP member turned Youtuber reveals the skills BTS and BLACKPINK have in common to be successful in the K-pop industry.

During her vlog, Way stated that due to COVID-19, everything is shared online, such as work and school, even the idol industry with the cancellation of pre-planned concerts and fan meets.

She believes that many idols are having trouble with such a situation. Regional festivals were becoming unavailable as COVID-19 started since celebrations are a good income source for them and the company.

Second, Way shares her opinion on why good communication skills are vital to learning as K-pop music is now shared across other English-communicating countries such as the U.S. and the U.K. and is no longer limited in South Korea.

The former CRAYON POP member named BTS and BLACKPINK as notable examples as both K-pop groups exemplify their command in the English language.

Both K-pop groups had members praised by their communication skills such as RM, leader of BTS, taught himself in English, while Rose and Jennie were born in English-speaking countries. BLACKPINK's Lisa even has highly developed speaking skills and can communicate in multiple languages such as English, Japanese, and Thai.

Both BTS and BLACKPINK currently achieved tremendous success in their careers, and releasing their songs in a global audience as "Dynamite" is the first K-pop song to debut on the number one spot on the Billboard Music chart. BTS also had a recent partnership with the United Nations as the group shared a message of love and solidarity during the COVID-19 pandemic.

While BLACKPINK's recent release "Ice Cream," featuring Selena Gomez, also had multiple success in different countries from their English-written single. The single has earned its way to the Billboard Hot 100, placing in number 13, the highest the girl group has ever accomplished.

Besides that, Way also expressed her opinion that the music scene's idol system has many holes, starting with some idols debuting at a younger age and not experiencing everyday life. The former CRAYON POP idol stated that idols should also have other skills to prioritize if their music career would fail in the future.
