On September 22, the NBC late-night talk show revealed the news about its upcoming “BTS Week,” which features five performances by the group over five nights. The special is set to begin on September 28.
An exclusive report from the Entertainment Weekly said that the group would also be taking part in host Jimmy Fallon’s comedy bits and virtual interview. Also, on Wednesday—September 30, BTS will reportedly be the lead guest of the show.
Fallon said in a statement, “We love having BTS on the show. These guys are incredible, and you know they’re going to go above and beyond to make their performance unforgettable.”
The comedian host continued saying that the last time they had BTS was on, we took over Grand Central Terminal. “So we had our work cut out for us to top that. And what’s better than one night with BTS … a full week!” (via Variety)
Currently, BTS is promoting their new English-language single “Dynamite,” which made history by becoming the first song by an all-South Korean act to top Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, wrote Soompi.
The track continues to reign in Korea with a “perfect all-kill” of the domestic music charts, and its music video has grabbed Guinness World Records titles for “Most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours” and more.
According to Spotify, BTS’ new track “Dynamite” sparked a 300% increase in the number of people listening to their music for the first time.
In February this year, BTS first appeared in “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.” The septet showcased an episode with them being featured while touring New York City. There, they played games in the subway and performed “ON” at Grand Central Terminal.
