Lee Seung Gi And Cha Tae Hyun's Variety Show 'Hometown Flex' Bids Goodbye Due To COVID-19
As per Soompi, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, tvN’s new variety show “Hometown Flex” will be coming to an early end.
“Hometown Flex,” first aired in July, and it follows Lee Seung Gi and Cha Tae Hyun as they traveled around the country and experienced life in the celebrity guests’ hometowns. However, due to an unexpected surge in COVID-19 cases in August, the program announced that it would temporarily halt filming until the situation improved.
Moreover, tvN confirmed this week that the variety show would be airing its final episode on September 20. And since the show has not been able to film for several weeks, it will be airing a special broadcast as a final goodbye to viewers.
Meanwhile, the producers of the program revealed that they would be discussing the possibility of a second season of “Hometown Flex” once the situation with COVID-19 improves.
“Hometown Flex” PD Thanks The The Brilliant Hosts
Following the finale episode of “Hometown Flex,” the show’s producing director (PD) talked about the contributions of Cha Tae Hyun and Lee Seung Gi to the show. Yoo Ho Jin commented that he believes that without the duo, it would have been so much harder to work the program out.
The PD continued to say that it might have been impossible to work without Cha Tae Hyun and Lee Seung Gi. “Both pay so much attention to and lend their ears to other people, and I think that was the strength that allowed this program to be established,” said Yoo Ho Jin.
Additionally, the PD expressed that he wants to thank the two for everything. For casting a program that made it easy for guests to outshine them and for having the skills to overcome that obstacle and for showcasing their charms.
Finally, Yoo Ho Jin expressed his thanks to Cha Tae Hyun and Lee Seung Gi for showing such genuine interest and consideration for the guests.
