SEVENTEEN smashing records and achieving milestones.
As per Hellokpop, referencing to Oricon’s released figures, SEVENTEEN hails as the first non-Japanese male artist in the chart’s history to achieve four consecutive feats on the Weekly Album Chart. Moreover, the boy band earns the third spot of the same title, following the American songstress Mariah Carey on November 20, 1998, and fellow K-pop group TWICE on May 13, 2019.
The impressive Oricon feat of SEVENTEEN comes after the launch of their three albums, namely the band’s sixth extended play entitled YOU MADE MY DAWN, their third full-length album entitled An Ode and seventh extended play entitled Henggarae, and lastly, the album entitled 24H.
On top of SEVENTEEN’s recent achievements, the band continues to prove its powerful music in the K-pop music scene through going over the sales of 1.09 million on its first week for their Korean album entitled Henggarae. Having that said, the band joined the roster of the “million-seller” K-pop groups.
A message from S.Coup, SEVENTEEN’s bandleader.
SEVENTEEN’s ever-supportive leader S.Coup shared his gratefulness regarding the band's recent milestones, saying, “We would like to thank CARATs for constantly supporting us. Through your love and support, we were able to top the Oricon Weekly Album Chart. We want to express our sincere gratitude to [CARATS] who always make us shine even though we were apart. Thank you very much.”
Though being in a discord due to the COVID-19 global pandemic, S.Coup shared that it won’t hinder them from releasing new music through 24H. However, due to the restrictions caused by the same, it wouldn’t allow the band to share the music with their fans in-live.
He concluded his statement by saying thank you to their beloved fans. Congratulations SEVENTEEN!
