It's not easy to be a K-Pop trainee because several trainees frequently leave their agency for different reasons. Below is a look at the more prevalent reasons why trainees quit aspiring to become a K-Pop idol. (via Koreaboo)
FREEDOM
It is no surprise that K-Pop trainees have exhausting and limiting lifestyles, so many trainees eventually leave to have even more freedom. Some former trainees have been approached by YouTube channel Studio V, and they have expressed that firms are strict about weight.
One of the previous trainees also disclosed that every other day she was supposed to lose pounds. The former trainee then showed that after leaving their respective company, it developed a twinge of freedom.
NOT MEANT FOR IDOL LIFE
A former SM Entertainment trainee has spoken once about her experiences as a trainee and expressed that she decided to leave since the routine didn't match her.
She acknowledged that the training phase was much more challenging than expected and that she simply does not fit in with the firm's other trainees.
Go Yujin, an 8D Creative trainee and a Produce 48 contestant, recently revealed that she quit chasing an idol profession as the lifestyle was chipping away at her.
"I've been a trainee for a lot longer and worked incredibly hard on it. However, once I noticed the routine was nibbling away at me, it became quite difficult to endure every day. So I decided to give up on my beautiful dream. I'm sorry for those who have been waiting for me, but from now on, I'm going to live as a non-celebrity."
THE AGENCY ITSELF
K-Pop trainees often appear to cease to be a trainee due to systematic abuse at an agency. Moon Sua has been a trainee at YG Entertainment for about a decade but never debuted under the agency.
She eventually left the agency, and supporters believed she was leaving the company because she couldn't wait for her debut anymore. She is now a MYSTIC Story Trainee.
