Song Kang Is An Aspiring Ballet Dancer In Upcoming Drama 'Navillera'
One order of Song Kang in tights coming right up!
According to the report by Daily Sports, an official from the drama has confirmed that Song Kang will be starring in the drama adaptation of the webtoon ‘Navillera’ along with actors Park In Hwan and Na Moon Hee.
‘Navillera’ tells the story of Shim Duk Chol (Park In Hwan), a retired 70-year old man who attempts to pursue his long time dream of becoming a ballet dancer despite his age and his family being against the idea.
He encounters Lee Chae Rok (Song Kang) in the ballet learning institution one day and their friendship starts from there. Lee Chae Rok is a 23-year old rising ballet dancer with great talent and potential who often blames himself for his frequent injuries. He finds the comfort of having a family that he was longing for in the form of Lee Chae Rok.
The two characters then find companionship and inspiration with each other through their passion and love for ballet.
The drama depicts a lovely story that touches the bondage of family and the pain of loss and warmly comforts those who dream and for those who are still struggling on finding their dream.
To be directed by Han Dong Hwa, with Lee Eun Ma as the scriptwriter, the production will officially start this August!
Meanwhile, Song Kang will also be starring in another drama adaptation of the webtoon ‘Sweet Home’ that will be released on Netflix. It is said to premiere this year, but no specific details have been released yet.
After his debut with ‘The Liar and His Lover,’ Song Kang made a name for himself through ‘Man Who Sets the Table’ and ‘Beautiful Vampire.’
Recently, he starred in ‘When the Devil Calls Your Name’ and ‘Love Alarm.’ It was previously reported that a second season for ‘Love Alarm’ is also underway.
