The K-pop music scene has bloomed into a beautiful industry nowadays, from its rap-heavy music in the back in the early to today's catchy songs. But, over time, there have been many concepts the music industry has created that fans did sure took notice.
Here are some of the notable concepts K-pop has to offer.
Hitchhiker - 'Around'
Hitchhiker is famous for its wildly confusing sound and video production. The group can take the listener through a course of resembling a roller-coaster ride with their music. "Around" is an unexpected track collaboration with NCT Taeyoung, in its uniqueness in both music video and single is hard to take credit for.
Crayon Pop - 'Bar Bar Bar'
Crayon Pop's "Bar Bar Bar" took the nation by surprise when it was released back in 2013. The single is the perfect combination of both cute and weird and with its witty choreography that is easy to imitate and dance to. Besides that, the rap part of the song will take the listener by surprise.
T.O.P. - 'Doom Dada'
The "Doom Dada" music video takes the viewers from the evolution of man in a surreal black and white aesthetic to the present day as T.O.P. raps in unmatched skills. The single has a good concept that will take everyone to appreciate.
CoCoSori - 'Exquisite'
The single by CoCoSori clearly has a J-Pop influence to it, with its metal transitions in between the song in both the track and the music video. From catgirls to the baby metal aesthetics, the girl group serves the listeners with everything.
B1A4 - 'Solo Day'
"Solo Day" follows the boys of B1A4 onto an adventure to find extraterrestrial beings and proves them. Along with the ride are some of the quirkiest characters the group has created, taking its influence from computer games.
Gugudan - 'Chococo'
The music video for Gugudan's "Chococo" has a great concept to it as the girl group is seen working on a chocolate factory, resembling Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory film. This high energy MV pushes the boundaries of what K-pop can accomplish in their artistic minds.
SHINee - 'Married To The Music'
SHINee is known to have the most uniquely done music concepts in the business and the song "Married to the Music" is one of the best concepts in their repertoire. The music video follows that group somewhat like a haunted house with a lady taking each of the boy's body parts. And, the tone of the music adds to the feels.
VIXX - "Voodoo Doll'
Vixx single-handedly inspired the dark and creepy concept in the K-pop music industry in a mish-mash of unfathomable things in their music videos, and one of those MVs is "Voodoo Doll."
The single's concept takes on the form of a voodoo doll. The group plays as past lovers who have wronged the girl then, and now, they are ultimately controlled by her.
