BLACKPINK, according to YG Entertainment, is on its way to make history with their upcoming first full-length album!

YG Entertainment announced on September 4 that BLACKPINK’s first studio album “THE ALBUM” had already surpassed 800,000 stock pre-orders in just six days, wrote Soompi. The upcoming album racked up over 530,000 stock pre-orders within Korea and an additional 270,000 pre-orders from the United States and Europe.

According to YG Entertainment, as soon as pre-orders began for BLACKPINK’s limited edition “THE ALBUM” LP, it sold out in just a split second. The regular album pre-orders also exceeded their initial expected volume, so the agency is currently producing more albums.

BLACKPINK’s “THE ALBUM,” which is due out on October 2, will be including the group’s collaboration with Lady Gaga, “Sour Candy,” their first pre-release single “How You Like That,” and their recent project collab with Selena Gomez, “Ice Cream.” As of this writing, the tracklist for the album has yet to be revealed.

It can be recalled that on July 28, BLACKPINK’s agency unveiled the first glimpse of the album posters. A source from YG said that in 2020, BLACKPINK would be focusing on the global market with systematic and thorough planning and execution. “The global project that we are carrying out with the world’s largest music group Universal Music to have BLACKPINK take a greater leap is steadily taking place.”

The full album of BLACKPINK will be the final product of the group’s three-part comeback announced previously by YG Entertainment. The quartet kicked off with the first part “How You Like That” in June, and followed by their recent collaboration with Selena Gomez this month.
