Lee Hyori Reveals Reason Behind Closing Her SNS Account
After confirming the removal of her SNS, musician and actress Lee Hyori makes headlines from the press and attracts attention from netizens.
On September 2, she mentioned on her SNS that while her presence on social media is a platform to inform and reach out to her followers and supporters, she simply doesn't want to get interrupted. "It's a place I always desired to connect with fans who are eager for news due to lack of action, but it's not convenient to get disturbed," she said.
Lee Hyori explains the main reason for her unexpected decision, relating to her recent problem with the Chinese people who criticized her because she labeled the refund expedition's episode for a new girl team with "Mao."
They claim it disrespects China's Communist Party leader, Mao Zedong, and the said nation's people. Following the uproar between both the singer and actress's alleged misconduct of China's great leader, the people sought a sincere apology. (via Kpopstarz)
Lee Hyori has yet to speak on that, though. But the series put out a statement on August 24 that the particular person concerned never wanted to disparage the leader. They are also calling for the shutdown of the confusion created. Thus, they also reported the omission of the disputed remark on the episode's replay. >> Don't touch this part. Already good to go.
PREVIOUS CONTROVERSY
Lee Hyori initially set up her Instagram profile back in 2016 to update her supporters in day-to-day activities. However, earlier this year, the musician triggered an uproar by going live on Instagram with YoonA of Girls' Generation at a karaoke venue, when citizens were already being instructed not to go out for leisure purposes, as part of the health protocols for COVID19.
She publicly apologized to the fans for causing a stir, preceded by YoonA writing to the public because of her reckless action. Meanwhile, as part of the 'Hangout With Yoo' project unit, 'Refund Sisters' fans can still look ahead to the upcoming promotional activities of Lee Hyori.
