MBC's New Food Variety Show Will Feature Sung Si Kyung, Seo Jang Hoon, Kim Jong Kook, And HaHa
MBC confirmed a new food variety show will be released this year for the autumn evening or popularly known as Chuseok Holiday.
Called as “Red-Cheeked Ramyun Lab” (literal translation), the new show focuses on searching for new recipes with ramyun, where most Koreans describe it as their soul food.
Four men will be evaluating the new recipes made by the contestants:
1. Sung Si Kyung, 41 years old, and worked with seven shows in Korea, including Entertainment Show Clips, Duet Song Festival, Battle Trip, I Came Alone, 2018 KBS Entertainment Awards, Love Me Actually and 2019 MBC Music Festival. Also, he is a talented cook at home.
2. Seo Jang Hoon, 46 years old, a former South Korean professional basketball player and currently active as an entertainer and a host in various TV shows such as Five Cranky Brothers, Broadcasting on Your Side, Travelling Market and his latest show, Love Naggers 3. Seo Jang Hoon is also known for his brutal honesty.
3. Kim Jong Kook, 44 years old, a famous South Korean singer, a member of Turbo, gained popularity from TV shows as X-Man, Family Outing, and Running Man. He fits for the show because he loves healthy foods, and never likes processed food like ramyun.
4. HaHa, or known as Ha Dong Hoon, 41 years old, he appears on variety shows like Running Man, Infinite Challenge, and his recent appearance in Rewind and Most Ordinary Family, who has unexpected tastes for the show.
These four men will be joined by the eldest daughter of a famous food corporation, Ham Yeon Ji. The recipe makers are from foreigners working in South Korea to new students who will twist on ramyun.
The pilot episode will be directed by Yeo Woon Hyuk, who also created the shows “The Knee Drop Guru” and “Ask Us Anything” that will also be aired in October.
