Kim Min Jae shares thought on the scene where he played the piano in SBS drama "Do You Like Brahms?"
The unsteady dreams and love of classical music students, is what the story about "Do You Like Brahms?" The drama draws interest as it is set as part of the world of classical music, a not often seen theme in Korean dramas. The genius pianist who has won multiple international competitions is Park Joon Young, played by Kim Min Jae.
Kim Min Jae talks about preparing the role of a piano prodigy Park Joon Young, the first Korean pianist to won an award at the International Chopin Piano Competition. The actor starts by stating that being a pianist seems appealing to him.
He wanted to portray Park Joon Young because he tours the world that performs in recitals but was not always happy. There are times that he appears as impressive, and there were also times that he becomes dark.
Meanwhile, he did not have many opportunities to find out more about classical music, and the genre was hard for him to approach. While preparing for the drama, he asked for many sources for help, went to concerts, and came across and listened to classical music as well.
Kim Min Jae talked about how he related himself to the character, who thinks of others first and hides his feelings to take care of others. He added that he was not always like that but felt that he also had many similarities to Park Joon Young.
It was why Kim Min Jae could relate his character, and the emotions sink in while reading the script. The young actor concluded his statement by expressing that he wanted to see his role, Park Joon Young, experience things and keep growing and be happy, even if it's just in the drama.
